SUICIDAL EMPATHY IS KILLING THE WEST

Empathy is supposed to protect us. But what happens when compassion becomes so excessive, irrational, and misdirected that it begins protecting aggressors while abandoning their victims?
Gad Saad calls this phenomenon “suicidal empathy”: the pathological extension of compassion toward the wrong people, in the wrong amounts, even when doing so harms the society offering it.
But suicidal empathy is not driven by one type of person.
In this video, I break down the four psychological types that keep the system alive:
The useful idiots, who allow emotion to override evidence and self-preservation.
The narcissists, who use public compassion as a performance of moral superiority.
The power mongers, who exploit empathy for political control, money, and institutional power.
And the chaos junkies, who disguise their desire for destruction in the language of justice and liberation.
Drawing on evolutionary psychology, personality theory, Paul Bloom’s critique of empathy, Rob Henderson’s concept of luxury beliefs, the dark triad, cognitive dissonance, Marxism, and research on the psychological “need for chaos,” this video explains why empathy without reason can become deeply destructive.
Empathy is not the enemy. But empathy without facts, boundaries, accountability, or concern for consequences is not compassion. It is pathology.
