Subscriptions are everywhere—streaming services, software, groceries, even the heating in your car. Companies have convinced us that subscriptions will make our lives easier. And sure, that might be true. But what they don’t want you to know is the real damage that’s been done by the subscription economy. This is how subscriptions are poisoning society.

With the advent of tech and social media, and how addictive just watching media and using tech online is, companies have understood that the best way to monetize a platform is to guard content with subscriptions. For example, Google acquired YouTube and put ads on the platform to make it unbearable to watch unless you pay for it and join YouTube Premium. Many companies do that. Ultimately because more and more humans are weak and indoctrinated sheeple, we are at the total mercy of these companies. It is very scary how humans have fallen completely into slavery to online tech and social media. The horror of it all is that it shows how tech and Artificial Intelligence can so easily control humans. And it will get worse. What does being a human mean if companies can control our behavior so easily?
