“Historically, the most terrible things—war, genocide, and slavery—have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.” —Howard Zinn. Hyperconformity and blind obedience has infected the West and, in the process, crowded out the cultivation of courage. We are quickly losing our freedoms to a psychopathic and entitled political class. We must be a beacon of inspiration for those who wish to stand up against authoritarianism, but lack the basic courage to do so. Most people only stand up after someone else does, so it is so important for more of us to stand up first to inspire the rest to do so.
